History: This gentle elephant’s journey is one of resilience. She was rescued from illegal trade just as the plane was about to transport her and 12 others from Vientiane International Airport. A crucial order from the Prime Minister’s office declared the sale illegal, saving her from a life of exploitation.
Previously trained to perform degrading circus tricks, she now thrives among 16 other elephants at the ECC. While her shy demeanor makes it challenging for her to socialise, she is in a nurturing environment that fosters her healing. After experiencing a miscarriage due to her former life in logging, she joyfully welcomed a baby in 2022, and we hope she will continue to find companionship and contribute to the revitalization of the elephant population through our dedicated breeding programme.
