History: Mae Kham Pheng came from the Thongmixay province. She worked in the logging industry before being moved to a tourist camp in Van Vieng, where she stayed for 10 years. After her time in Van Vieng, Mae Kham Pheng was relocated to another tourist camp in Luang Prabang for a few months. However, due to being blind in one eye and not fitting well in the tourist camp environment, her owner decided to sell her. He contacted the ECC staff, as he did not want her to continue working. Mae Kham Pheng is now part of the ECC breeding program, living a more peaceful life. She was included in the breeding program and give birth to Mae Champa in 2020.
