Arrival of Mae Ping from Mekong Elephant Camp

One of the missions of the Elephant Conservation Center is to breed elephants for conservation purposes. If an other camp wants to breed to protect the species, we share our experience and our knowledge. In this context, the ECC agreed to welcome one female (Mae Ping) and her mahout (So) from Mekong Elephant Camp located in Pakbeng.
Mae Ping arrived by foot and spent several days getting used to the ECC. Before being introduced to the rest of the herd and to the breeder, we performed a check up to make sure she was healthy and that there was no risk of diseases, like tuberculosis, being transmitted to other elephants.

Have a look at the video to see how she spent her first days at the ECC.
