Hospital & Laboratory
Sick and injured elephants are immobilised for treatment in equipment known as a crush which allows hospital staff to provide proper care without any risk to our veterinarians or the patient. The hospital includes a laboratory equipped for blood analysis and parasitology and we are currently implementing new protocols in order to test for common infectious diseases and undertake epidemiology studies in Laos. In the drug preparation room, our staff prepares food and medicines especially adapted to elephants in clean conditions. Whilst our drugs and equipment kept close at hand and are also utilised by ElefantAsia's field veterinarians that are ready to go on emergency missions across the country at a moment’s notice. Facilities also include a large open space office for completing that all important paperwork and a bedroom for those late night treatment duties!
