Visitor Information

The Elephant Conservation Center offers both accommodation and a restaurant. Guests can stay as many days as they want and can choose from one of our programmes or help as volunteers. The only condition to stay at the Center is to behave according to the Charter of the Center and obey your guide or mahout at all times. Living or working alongside elephants requires that the utmost attention is paid to safety regulations. The Center is a quiet place set in untouched natural surroundings and pollution of any kind is not accepted. People showing inappropriate behaviour that can annoy both guests and elephants are not welcome!

You can have a lot of fun at the Center! But keep in mind that this place is a sanctuary for young calves, pregnant cows, aging and wounded elephants. They need to rest and enjoy peace and quiet to fully recover. Therefore, the Conservation Center is not a place where you can expect noisy parties. However, you will be thrilled by living close to elephants and the best mahouts in a wonderful part of Laos. Sayaboury province also offers many trekking and outdoors activities options. Ask us for tips about the range of activities available near the Center.

Sayaboury has been the heartland of Lao elephants for times immemorial. This is where you can admire the animals in their traditional natural environment.
