Elephant Museum

Inside the newly assembled house, a permanent exhibition of 27 tri-lingual boards will form the 'backbone' of your visit. Visitors will also have access to our extensive book & DVD library. ElefantAsia have also documented and translated ancient elephant "baci" scripts as well as manuals on how to purchase elephants, all originally written in the Tham Lue language. Old etchings from explorers to Laos in the late 19th century and a collection of Lao stamps featuring elephants have been offered to ElefantAsia by a group of French collectors. A full elephant skeleton is currently being mounted in Luang Prabang, with technical support from Paris National Museum of Natural History, and will be transported to the Center for permanent display at the elephant museum.
