Joining an international effort to protect the elephants of Laos is challenging and we are looking for the best of your imagination, skills and personality.

Grow supplementary foods; feed the babies; produce dung paper; harvest traditional medicine from our botanical gardens; repair elephant equipment; fix fences and build viewing platforms; assist the vets; help at the museum... The list of work at the Center is endless!

However, we guarantee that no other place in Laos can offer you the opportunity that the Elephant Conservation Center can for hands on experience, learning and fun. Long term volunteering includes meals and accommodation. Contact us via the volunteer form on this website.

Becoming a volunteer is easy.

The list of things to be built, painted, furnished, planted, collected, or simply invented will keep us busy for a long time! Becoming a volunteer at the Center means you will work alone or in a group, under the supervision of a mahout or a staff on the site and inside the forest concession. You will have a choice to join in several workgroups during your stay. Customize your visit at the Center! There is only one rule: you have to committ to your programme once it is published on the board. 

Activities include (but are not limited to!):

  • Helping at the Hospital and at the Elephant Nursery
  • Working at the field (growing fruits & elephant fodder)
